OPEC+ postpones oil output increase for October 2026

Vienna (ANTARA) - The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its partners, collectively known as OPEC+, decided on Sunday (6 September) to suspend the oil output increase for October, OPEC said in a statement, as reported by Xinhua on Monday.

The decision was taken following a virtual meeting of OPEC+ member countries, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman, to review global market conditions and economic prospects.

“The seven participating countries decided to maintain the production levels set for September 2026 to apply for October 2026,” the statement read.

The seven OPEC+ countries had been raising oil output on a monthly basis since April 2026.

OPEC said the seven countries would hold their next meeting on 4 October to review market conditions.
