Ono Surono's Wife Completes KPK Examination, Grilled with 16 Questions

The wife of PDIP politician Ono Surono, Setyowati Anggraini Saputro (SAS), completed her examination by the KPK today in connection with the bribery case involving advance payments for a project that ensnared the dismissed Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang. Ono’s wife was questioned with 16 queries by KPK investigators. “We were asked 16 questions earlier, but essentially, there were only about five main questions,” said her lawyer, Parlindungan Sihombing, to reporters at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026). “Questions like whether she knows this person or that, so we said she doesn’t know them. Then there were others about the seized items, where they came from, how, and we’ve explained everything, and it seems all clear now,” he continued. Parlindungan also requested the return of the seized items from the investigators. According to him, the investigators asked Ono’s wife to submit a letter requesting the return of the seized goods. “We also asked the investigators if those items could be retrieved. The investigators suggested that we make a request to retrieve our items, which is possible,” Parlindungan explained. He further stated that there was no intimidation by KPK investigators towards Ono’s wife during the search process. He said the family only regretted the request to turn off the CCTV during the search. “At that time, there was no direct intimidation. But there were a few things done that we think were not quite right. Like the request to turn off the CCTV, that’s probably it for now,” Parlindungan said. As is known, the KPK summoned Ono Surono’s wife, Setyowati Anggraini Saputro (SAS), today regarding the advance payment bribery case of the dismissed Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang. This summons is also related to the searches conducted by the KPK at two houses owned by Ono, in Bandung and Indramayu. From those two searches, the KPK seized documents, electronic evidence items, and hundreds of millions of rupiah in cash. The KPK has also denied allegations of intimidation against Ono’s wife during the search process. Those allegations were previously raised by Ono Surono’s lawyer, Sahali. “There was none (intimidation). The search activities went smoothly, well, and even the family received the search openly,” said Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4). Budi was responding to reporters’ questions about whether there was any alleged intimidation against Ono’s wife. Budi explained that the searches were conducted by the KPK to obtain additional evidence in the case investigation. Searches by the KPK are certainly based on legal processes. “And in fact, in this search, the investigators then secured, found, and seized several pieces of evidence that will certainly help in the investigation process of this case,” he stated. In the advance payment bribery case that ensnared Ade Kuswara, the KPK has named three suspects. The suspects are: 1. Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang 2. Ade Kuswara’s father, HM Kunang 3. Private party, Sarjan Ade and HM Kunang are alleged to have received project advance money amounting to Rp 9.5 billion. The Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that the project was planned to be worked on in 2026. The money was said to be an advance for project guarantees. “The total advance given by SRJ to ADK and HMK reached Rp 9.5 billion. The payments were made in four instalments through intermediaries,” said the Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu.
