Only two permits for shows issued

JAKARTA (JP): Head of the city public order office K. Budiantoro said that up until Friday there were only two permits issued by his office for New Year's Eve shows.

He said the two permits were issued based on proposals sent by Hailai and Ping House.

He said based on previous records, his office usually issued about 400 permits for New Year's Eve shows.

Budiantoro said that the office expects more centers will apply for the permits within the next few days. He guaranteed that the office will issue permits as quickly as possible.

He threatened firm action against those sponsoring illegal shows. Jayakarta daily reported that the office has taken action against the Daichi, Regent and Shangri-La hotels for employing foreign artists without proper permits. (yns)
