Only the best for Becky's daughter

JAKARTA: Presenter Rebecca "Becky" Tumewu aims to provide the best education for her 18-month-old daughter Tara Marie Dermawan, as well as giving her a little brother or sister.

"I have already got some information on pre-schools, but I haven't registered my daughter yet. I think going to pre-schools is a good way to socialize my daughter but she's still too young. I have to wait until she's two years old before enrolling her in a play group," Becky said here recently.

In an effort to stimulate her daughter's creativity, Becky has given her some educational toys. She also aims to give Tara religious lessons as early as possible.

"I have taught her how to pray as a Catholic and how to love and share with other people in our lives," said the host of RCTI's Selamat Datang Pagi and MetroTV's The Plaza talk shows.

Becky said she would go ahead with her plan to have another child after traveling to the United States in May 2002 with husband Johannes Dermawan. The couple will travel to the U.S. to attend Becky's best friend's wedding. -- JP
