Only 39 Jakarta Regional Assembly Members Attend Plenary Session, Many Seats Empty
JAKARTA – Only 39 members of the Jakarta Regional Assembly (DPRD DKI Jakarta) attended a plenary session featuring the Jakarta Governor’s address on two regional regulatory proposals at the DPRD DKI Jakarta building on Monday, 2 March 2026.
The session was held in person, with no participants joining remotely.
Based on observations at the venue, the session commenced after Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung arrived at approximately 10:18 WIB. At 10:20 WIB, only 18 assembly members were visibly present and seated.
Four assembly leaders presided over the session: Assembly Chair Khoirudin, Vice-Chair I Ima Mahdiah, Vice-Chair III Wibi Andrino, and Vice-Chair IV Basri Baco.
The plenary agenda included the Governor’s address on:
A regional regulation concerning family development
A regional regulation on environmental protection and management planning
The atmosphere during the session appeared subdued, with numerous empty seats scattered throughout the chamber, particularly in the front section. The plenary chamber is designed to accommodate all 106 assembly members.
The session lasted approximately 25 minutes from start to finish.
