The public economy is showing signs of improvement, notably reflected in the momentum of the 7.7 online shopping event. PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) recorded a significant surge in shipment volume during the period, with the average tonnage increasing to 165 tonnes per day, representing a growth of approximately 37.5%. This increase occurred alongside high e-commerce transactions during the 7.7 flash sale programmes held by various marketplaces. Despite the sharp rise in shipment volume, Pos Indonesia ensured that all operational processes continued to run smoothly by strengthening processing and distribution capacity at various service points. Operation General Manager of the Pos Indonesia Jakarta Processing Centre, Galang Budi Mulyo, stated that the surge in shipments had been visible since the start of the 7.7 promotional programme. “Under normal conditions, the average shipment we process is around 120 tonnes per day. During the 7.7 flash sale momentum, the volume increased to approximately 165 tonnes per day, a 37.5% rise. The entire operational team has been placed on standby to ensure the sorting and distribution processes continue to run optimally,” he said. In addition to being influenced by high online shopping transactions, Pos Indonesia also recorded an increase in shipments related to the new academic year, particularly from university students. One type of shipment that experienced an increase was the delivery of motorcycles for students who will begin their studies in various regions. “Entering the new academic year, especially for students returning to campus, we are also seeing an increase in the shipment of two-wheeled vehicles to and from Jakarta. The most common destination currently is the Sumatra region,” he added. Previously, in welcoming the 7.7 online shopping momentum, Pos Indonesia offered a shipping discount promo of up to 10 percent for Pos Reguler, Pos Nextday, and Pos Sameday services, valid from 6 to 8 July 2026. The promotion could be accessed through all Pos Indonesia service channels, including Pos Indonesia counters, PosAja! Oranger, PosAja! Drop Point, PosAja! Agents, and the PosAja! application, allowing customers to choose the service that best suits their needs. Senior Vice President of Retail Business at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), Helly Siti Halimah, previously stated that the 7.7 momentum is an opportunity for Pos Indonesia to provide increasingly competitive logistics services while delivering the best experience for customers. “The 7.7 online shopping momentum is always followed by an increase in shipping activity across Indonesia. Through this shipping discount promo, we want to provide greater benefits to the public while ensuring that Pos Indonesia services remain a fast, safe, and reliable choice. We have made all operational preparations so that customers can enjoy an optimal shipping experience during the promotional period,” she asserted. To anticipate the surge in shipment volume, Pos Indonesia has increased service capacity, optimised distribution processes, and strengthened coordination across its entire national operational network. These measures were taken to ensure that all shipments can still be processed and delivered on time despite the increase in demand during the online shopping campaign period. With the support of a logistics network spread throughout Indonesia, Pos Indonesia is optimistic about maintaining service quality while supporting the growth of the national digital trade ecosystem, including meeting the public’s shipping needs during online shopping moments and student mobility ahead of the new academic year.
