Online Prostitution Den in Cilegon Raided in the Middle of the Night, Victims Sold for Rp200,000–Rp500,000
A case of human trafficking (TPPO) involving online prostitution was successfully uncovered by the Banten Regional Police (Polda) through Subdit IV Ditreskrimum. Two individuals were arrested and designated as suspects, with initials AN (29) and TH (23). The revelation stemmed from public information regarding the recruitment and housing of women in a rented room in the Cilegon city area. “Following up on the report, the team arrived at the location on Monday in the early hours around 00:30 WIB. From the examination, we found several rooms used to serve customers,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Polda Banten, Commissioner General of Police Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. He revealed that the modus operandi of the two perpetrators involved recruiting, housing, and offering the victims to lecherous men through the MiChat application to gain personal profit. The victims were offered at rates starting from Rp200,000 to Rp500,000 per service. To lure the victims, the perpetrators promised earnings of Rp3.5 million per week plus Rp100,000 daily for meals, with a target of serving at least 10 customers. From the scene, police seized several pieces of evidence strengthening the TPPO practice. “The secured evidence includes cash amounting to Rp2,310,000, three boxes of contraceptives, two bottles of lubricant, one room key, one customer notebook, and four mobile phones of various types used by the perpetrators,” he said. His side urged the public to be more aware of their surroundings and actively participate in preventing exploitation. “We invite the public to immediately report through the Call Center 110 if they know of any human trafficking practices. Public involvement is very important in efforts to prevent and eradicate TPPO,” he added.
