Online Lending Disburses Rp 103 Trillion, OJK Urges Prudence
The Chief Executive of the Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions (PVML) Supervisory Authority at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Agusman, reported that the online lending (pindar) industry recorded loan disbursements of Rp 103 trillion, marking a 25.6% year-on-year increase. This growth reflects the high public demand for digital financing. Overall, the PVML industry posted positive performance in the first half of 2026. Multifinance sector financing grew, reaching a total of Rp 513 trillion, a 1.7% increase, with a target of nearly 6% growth for the full year. Meanwhile, the venture capital sector saw a modest 0.09% year-on-year rise to Rp 16 trillion, as firms adopted a more selective approach to investment amid global economic uncertainty. The microfinance sector (LKM) also expanded, growing 7% to Rp 6.4 trillion, aimed at supporting and mentoring small businesses.
