One Year of Danantara: Strengthening the Foundation of Indonesia's Future Generation
Jakarta — Danantara Indonesia marked one year of its institutional journey through a joint reflection activity held at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 11 March. The event was attended by the President, Cabinet Ministers, and Danantara leadership and staff.
President Prabowo Subianto provided guidance on the importance of maintaining integrity, disciplined governance practices, and long-term orientation in managing state assets to strengthen the foundation of national economic development. He emphasised that Danantara Indonesia was established to ensure that state asset management is conducted professionally and oriented towards the long-term interests of the nation, thereby capable of delivering added value to national development and public welfare.
“We are grateful that Indonesia now has a state investment management institution that can be compared with sovereign wealth funds at the global level. In this one year, it is evident that with good management, disciplined governance, and strong commitment, the performance of state asset management can increase significantly,” Prabowo said.
“However, this achievement is only the beginning. Going forward, we must continue to strengthen governance and improve performance so that state asset management truly provides maximum benefits for the Indonesian people,” he added.
This one-year celebration adopted the theme “One Danantara”, which reflects the spirit of all State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to move in one unified step in strengthening the foundation of the national economy and creating broader impact for future generations.
Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani stated that the first year of Danantara’s journey focused on building strong institutional foundations and governance, whilst ensuring that the direction of state investment management remains grounded in creating long-term benefits for society.
“State asset management must ultimately deliver tangible impact for the future of the nation. Therefore, commitment to the development of future generations is also an important part of Danantara Indonesia’s journey,” he said.
This commitment is reflected in the strengthening of governance and state asset management structure, as well as in various initiatives that emphasise that development results must deliver tangible benefits to society, including for Indonesia’s young generation.
At the event, the symbolic handover of 88,000 school supply packages for children across Indonesia was conducted. This programme was implemented simultaneously by SOEs in various regions as a form of support for educational access and preparation of Indonesia’s Golden Generation.
“This first year is a phase of building foundations. Moving forward, our focus is to ensure these foundations are translated into tangible performance, through strong governance, professional state asset management, and strategic investments that benefit the national economy and the future of Indonesia’s generation,” said Rosan.
In line with Danantara’s commitment, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) contributed through various social initiatives focused on strengthening educational access for children across Indonesia, particularly through reliable and widespread digital telecommunications services.
With the spirit of “Present Without Ceasing, Serve with All Our Hearts”, during Danantara’s one-year celebration, TelkomGroup also took a role in boosting the learning spirit of students through the distribution of school supply assistance implemented simultaneously by SOEs across various regions of Indonesia.
TelkomGroup distributed 2,500 school supply packages to students in North Kalimantan, covering Tarakan City, Malinau Regency, and Nunukan Regency. Distribution assistance consisted of 1,500 packages in Tarakan City and 500 packages each in Malinau Regency and Nunukan Regency. This distribution activity was carried out through collaboration between various entities within TelkomGroup, including Telkomsel, InfraNexia, TelkomAkses, and Telkom Property.
This collaboration also supported coordination with schools and ensured that assistance was properly received directly by students.
Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini stated that TelkomGroup’s participation in this programme is part of the company’s commitment to continue creating sustainable social impact for society. According to her, strengthening the quality of human resources is an important foundation in driving national progress in the future.
“We believe that investment in education and young generation will provide long-term impact for national development. Through TelkomGroup’s support for this programme, we hope to help open more opportunities and boost the spirit for young generation to grow, learn, and achieve a better future,” said Dian.
In its transformation journey, Telkom continues to strengthen the company’s strategic direction through the TLKM 30 strategy, which is also aligned with Danantara’s agenda. This strategy focuses on strengthening governance discipline, business portfolio management through streamlining, increasing focus on long-term value creation, and strengthening strategic holding structure.
“Through these steps, Telkom further strengthens its role as an enabler of a globally competitive national digital ecosystem whilst promoting sustained contribution to Indonesia’s economy,” said Dian.
Through this one-year journey milestone, Danantara Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening governance foundations, improving the quality of state asset management, and promoting strategic investments that deliver long-term economic and social impact for Indonesia.
