One Year of Danantara: Prabowo Emphasises State Asset Governance and Commitment to Future Generations
Danantara Indonesia marked its first year with an institutional reflection event at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11 March 2026). The event was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, Cabinet ministers, and Danantara’s leadership and staff. In his address, Prabowo emphasised the importance of maintaining integrity, governance discipline, and a long-term orientation in managing state assets to strengthen the foundations of national economic development. He stated that Danantara was established to ensure professional management of state assets, focused on the nation’s long-term interests, thereby adding value to development and public welfare. “We are grateful that Indonesia now has a state investment management institution that can be aligned with global sovereign wealth funds. However, this achievement is just the beginning. Moving forward, governance and performance must be continuously strengthened so that the benefits are even greater for the people,” Prabowo said in a press release received by Kompas.com on Wednesday (18 March 2026). Under the theme “One Danantara”, this first anniversary reflects the spirit of SOEs to move together in strengthening the national economic foundation and creating impacts for future generations. “The management of state assets must ultimately have a real impact on the nation’s future. Therefore, commitment to developing future generations is an important part of Danantara’s journey,” he added. This commitment is not only reflected in strengthening governance but also through various initiatives that directly benefit the community, including the younger generation. As a symbol of support for the future of the nation’s children, the event included the symbolic handover of 88,000 school supply kits for children across Indonesia. This programme was carried out simultaneously by SOEs in various regions to support access to education and preparation for Indonesia’s Golden Generation. Bank Mandiri President Director Riduan stated that his institution participated by distributing 6,000 school supply kits in several areas. According to him, this support is part of Bank Mandiri’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the educational foundation for the younger generation while ensuring children have adequate learning resources. “This also affirms the company’s role as part of Danantara in delivering tangible contributions that directly impact the community,” Riduan said. “The first year is the foundation-building phase. Moving forward, our focus is to ensure that this foundation is translated into real performance through strong governance and strategic investments,” said Rosan. Danantara Indonesia, or the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency, is a strategic investment management institution established through Law No. 1 of 2025. As an independent body under the President, Danantara has the mandate to manage and optimise government investments and SOE assets to support the national development mission, including accelerating industrialisation and economic growth. With a professional, transparent, and accountable approach, Danantara aims to strengthen state asset governance, create added value for the economy, and enhance Indonesia’s global competitiveness.
