One Year of Danantara Indonesia, Strengthening the Foundation for the Future
Danantara Indonesia marked one year of its institutional journey through a joint reflection activity held at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11 March). The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Cabinet Ministers, and the leadership and personnel of Danantara.
On this occasion, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, gave direction to all members of Danantara Indonesia regarding the importance of maintaining integrity, disciplined governance, and long-term orientation in managing state assets to strengthen the foundation of national economic development.
The President emphasised that Danantara Indonesia was established to ensure state asset management is conducted professionally and oriented towards the long-term interests of the nation, thereby able to provide tangible added value for national development and public welfare.
“We are grateful that Indonesia now has a state investment management institution that can be compared with sovereign wealth funds at the global level. Over this past year, it is evident that with good management, disciplined governance, and strong commitment, the performance of state asset management has increased significantly. However, this achievement is only the beginning. Going forward, we must continue to strengthen governance and improve performance so that state asset management truly provides maximum benefits for the Indonesian people.”
The first anniversary celebration carried the theme “One Danantara”, which reflects the spirit of all state-owned enterprises to move in one step together in strengthening the foundation of the national economy and creating broader impact for future generations.
Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Danantara Indonesia, stated that the first year of Danantara’s journey focused on building strong institutional foundations and governance, whilst ensuring that the direction of state investment management remains rooted in creating long-term benefits for society. “State asset management must ultimately provide real impact for the nation’s future. Therefore, commitment to developing future generations is also an important part of Danantara Indonesia’s journey,” he said.
This commitment is reflected not only in strengthening governance and the structure of state asset management, but also in various initiatives that affirm that development outcomes must provide tangible benefits for society, including for Indonesia’s young generation.
As a symbol of commitment to the future of the nation’s children, the event also included the symbolic handover of 88,000 school supply packages for children throughout Indonesia. This programme was implemented simultaneously by state-owned enterprises in various regions as a form of support for educational access and preparation of Indonesia’s Golden Generation.
In line with Danantara’s commitment, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) contributed through various social initiatives focusing on strengthening educational access for children across Indonesia, particularly through reliable and equitable digital telecommunications services. With the spirit “Present Endlessly, Serve Wholeheartedly”, at the Danantara anniversary celebration, TelkomGroup also took a role in enhancing learning enthusiasm for students through the distribution of school supply packages implemented simultaneously by state-owned enterprises in various regions of Indonesia.
TelkomGroup distributed 2,500 school supply packages to students in North Kalimantan, covering Tarakan City, Malinau District, and Nunukan District. The distribution of assistance consisted of 1,500 packages in Tarakan City and 500 packages each in Malinau District and Nunukan District. This distribution activity was carried out through collaboration of various entities within TelkomGroup, including Telkomsel, InfraNexia, TelkomAkses, and Telkom Property. This collaboration also supported the coordination process with schools and ensured assistance was properly received directly by students.
Dian Siswarini, Director General of Telkom, stated that TelkomGroup’s participation in this programme is part of the company’s commitment to continuously create sustainable social impact for society. According to her, strengthening the quality of human resources is an important foundation in driving the nation’s progress in the future.
“We believe that investment in education and young people will provide long-term impact for national development. Through TelkomGroup’s support for this programme, we hope to open more opportunities and increase enthusiasm for young people to grow, learn, and achieve a better future,” said Dian.
In its transformation journey, Telkom continues to strengthen the company’s strategic direction through the TLKM 30 strategy, which is also in line with Danantara’s agenda. Focusing on strengthening governance discipline, restructuring business portfolios through streamlining, increasing focus on creating long-term value, and strengthening strategic holding structures. Through these steps, Telkom is further strengthening its role as an enabler of Indonesia’s competitive national digital ecosystem whilst driving sustainable contribution to Indonesia’s economy.
Through this first anniversary milestone, Danantara Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening governance foundations, improving the quality of state asset management, and promoting strategic investments that deliver long-term economic and social impact for Indonesia.
