One Year of Andra Soni-Dimyati: Banten's Macro Indicators Show Positive Trend
The first year of governance under Banten Governor Andra Soni and Deputy Governor Dimyati Natakusumah has recorded positive achievements against the macro indicator targets set in the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2025–2029. Several of these achievements have even surpassed national targets.
For 2025, Banten province’s RPJMD established eight targets across nine macro indicators. Macro indicators are a set of statistical measures that describe the economic, social and development performance of a region.
Each year, macro indicator achievements are recorded by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), comprising the Human Development Index (HDI), economic growth, open unemployment rate, poverty rate and Gini ratio, as well as Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), provincial GRDP contribution, and the Environmental Quality Index.
“In 2025, Banten province’s HDI reached 77.25 points. This achievement exceeded the RPJMD target of 76.50 and placed Banten province in the national top seven in the high HDI category,” explained the Head of the Leadership Administration Bureau of the Banten Provincial Secretariat, Arif Agus Rakhman, in an official statement on Friday (20 February 2026).
A similar pattern was observed in Banten province’s economy in 2025, which grew by 5.37 per cent year-on-year. This achievement also exceeded the RPJMD target for two consecutive years — 5.20 per cent for 2025 and 4.79 per cent for 2024.
“Banten province’s economic growth has moved positively, supported by stable performance in the manufacturing, construction and agricultural sectors as key drivers. This is in line with investment realisation in Banten province, which increased significantly in 2025 to reach Rp130.2 trillion, compared with Rp105.64 trillion in 2024,” Arif explained.
In terms of reducing unemployment, the number of employed persons in Banten province also increased significantly, totalling 5.80 million people in February 2025. The same held true for poverty alleviation — in 2025, the actual figure reached 5.51 per cent against the provincial RPJMD target of 5.50 per cent.
Furthermore, Banten province’s per capita GRDP in 2025 reached Rp74.67 million, achieving 103 per cent of the RPJMD target of Rp72.35 million. Meanwhile, Banten province’s contribution to national GRDP reached 3.96 per cent against the RPJMD target of 4 per cent. The Environmental Quality Index (IKLH) also improved, with an actual figure of 69.12 against the RPJMD target of 66.92.
Governance Performance
The macro indicator achievements were also underpinned by governance performance. The Banten provincial government has received an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for its Regional Government Financial Statements (LKPD) for nine consecutive years.
The Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) Index for 2025 also improved to 3.69, earning a “very good” rating. The Regional Government Integrity score through the 2025 Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI) reached 73.22.
Regional policy quality has also shown improvement. Based on the 2025 Policy Quality Index (IKK) measurement, Banten province achieved a “Very Good” qualification. The province also once again received the “Informative” rating in the 2025 Public Information Disclosure Awards with a score of 96.45.
“In terms of governance performance, Banten province is in the national top ten — ranking ninth out of 34 provinces with a high performance status. This achievement is reinforced by the attainment of an A (Very Good) rating in the 2025 Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Service Delivery Performance,” Arif concluded.
