One Year in Operation, TransJakarta Route PIK 2–Blok M Reaches 1.4 Million Passengers
Head of Communications and CSR at TransJakarta Ayu Wardhani said public enthusiasm is evident from the steadily rising number of customers since the service’s launch. “This route is not only used by workers and students, but also by tourists and residents who want to enjoy the PIK area and Blok M without facing congestion and the hassle of finding parking,” Ayu said in a statement on Friday (22 May 2026). “We are seeing increases in mobility, especially at weekends and holidays, which shows that public transport is increasingly becoming part of residents’ lifestyle,” she added. Over the past year, the PIK 2–Blok M route (T31) carried 1,409,872 passengers, a significant rise from the initial period when only 112,344 passengers were served in the first month. TransJakarta says the route T31 connects residential areas, business districts and popular tourist destinations. The service is used by a range of groups, from workers commuting to offices, to pupils and university students travelling across the city, and families visiting the PIK and Blok M areas on weekends. According to Ayu, strong demand for Transjabodetabek services is also evident on several other routes, a positive sign that residents are increasingly turning to integrated public transport as a daily mobility solution. “Not only on the PIK 2–Blok M route (T31), similar enthusiasm can be seen on various Transjabodetabek services. This is a positive signal that people are becoming more willing to switch to public transport as a daily mobility solution,” she said. TransJakarta says it will continue to strengthen safe, comfortable, and integrated public transport services to facilitate journeys for people from peripheral areas to Jakarta and vice versa.
