Subang (ANTARA) - A one-way traffic engineering system towards Jakarta has been officially implemented on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road section at 5:08 PM WIB on Monday. Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in Subang, West Java, on Monday that the implementation of the one-way system is part of the local one-way traffic engineering from KM 263 (Pejagan-Pemalang) to KM 70 (Jakarta-Cikampek). Prior preparations, including sterilisation of the Jakarta-bound lane and rest areas, have been carried out since 2:00 PM WIB. The traffic engineering implementation is situational, following the discretion of the National Police Traffic Corps. Based on data from 12:00 AM WIB to 5:00 PM WIB on the first day after Eid al-Fitr, traffic flow towards Jakarta via the Cipali toll road has been observed to increase significantly, with smooth but busy conditions. Approximately 38,000 vehicles have passed through Cikopo towards Jakarta, which is 101% higher than the same period yesterday. Astra Tol Cipali urges all road users to always prioritise safety, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and comply with instructions from on-site officers during the traffic engineering period. To ensure collective safety, road users are expected not to change lanes or use U-turns while the one-way system is in effect. “We also urge not to stop on the road shoulder except in emergency conditions,” said Ardam. Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or utilise rest facilities outside the nearest toll gate if parking capacity is full, with the assurance of the same toll fare (accumulated per kilometre).
