One-Way System to Jakarta Officially Implemented on Cipali Toll Road! 38,000 Vehicles Have Already Passed

Traffic engineering in the form of a one-way system towards Jakarta has been officially implemented on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road section on Monday, 23 March 2026, around 5:08 PM WIB. Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in Subang, West Java, on Monday that the implementation of the one-way system is part of the local one-way traffic engineering from KM 263 (Pejagan–Pemalang) to KM 70 (Jakarta–Cikampek). Prior to this, preparations including sterilisation of the Jakarta-bound lane and rest areas had been carried out since 2:00 PM WIB. The traffic engineering implementation is situational and follows the discretion of the National Traffic Police Corps. Based on data from the period 00:00 WIB to 17:00 WIB on H+1 Eid al-Fitr, traffic flow towards Jakarta on the Cipali toll road section was observed to increase significantly, with conditions of busy but smooth traffic. Approximately 38,000 vehicles had passed Cikopo towards Jakarta, 101% higher than the same period yesterday. Cumulatively in both directions, the total traffic volume on the Cipali toll road section this afternoon was relatively similar to yesterday’s period, 2% lower than the same period the previous day. Astra Tol Cipali advises all road users to always prioritise safety, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and strictly follow instructions from on-site officers during the traffic engineering period. To ensure collective safety, road users are urged not to change lanes or use U-turns while the one-way system is in effect. “We also advise against stopping on the road shoulder except in emergencies,” said Ardam. Road users are recommended to rest at the nearest rest area or utilise resting spots outside the nearest toll gate if parking capacity is full, with the assurance of the same toll tariff (accumulated per kilometre).
