“As of this afternoon’s update, at 4:00 PM, two-way traffic has been restored. Previously, from 12:30 PM, we implemented a one-way system from Puncak towards Jakarta,” said the Head of Traffic Police for Bogor Regency, AKP Afif Widhi Ananto, on Sunday (May 17, 2026).

Afif stated that the number of vehicles heading towards Puncak has decreased compared to three days prior during the long weekend. Today, he added, traffic on the Puncak highway is dominated by vehicles travelling towards Jakarta.

“Today, public interest in visiting Puncak has decreased compared to the previous three days during the long weekend. Most vehicles are now carrying people returning home after their long weekend trip. Therefore, the majority of vehicles are moving from Puncak towards Jakarta,” said Afif.

The return flow of tourist vehicles from Puncak towards Jakarta is expected to continue until late in the evening. Personnel have been deployed to anticipate traffic congestion.

“Based on our predictions, the majority of vehicles until tonight will be those returning home after their vacation. So, many people are heading down from Puncak towards Jakarta,” said Afif.

“Therefore, our personnel from the Bogor Regency Traffic Police are deploying 120 officers who will be on standby until late to provide security for those who have not yet returned from Puncak to Jakarta,” he added.
