One-Way System on Puncak Bogor Ends This Afternoon, Traffic at Gadog Intersection Congested
The one-way traffic system on the Puncak highway in Bogor, West Java, ended this afternoon. Traffic on Puncak is now back to normal, with vehicles travelling in both directions.
As of 17:10 WIB on Saturday, 16th May 2026, the one-way system had ended, according to a report by detikcom at the Gadog intersection. Vehicles that had been waiting were then able to proceed towards Puncak.
Meanwhile, traffic at the Gadog intersection heading towards Puncak was observed to be congested. Vehicles were arriving from the Ciawi arterial road, while vehicles from the Jagorawi Toll Road were unable to pass.
A number of police officers were seen directing traffic. Traffic heading from Puncak towards Jakarta was reported to be heavy but flowing smoothly.
Earlier in the day, Bogor Police Traffic Unit Head, Iptu Afif Widhi Ananto, stated that 18,000 vehicles had passed through the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Puncak. This number represents an 18% decrease compared to two days prior.
“Compared to the first day of the long weekend on Thursday, this number has decreased by 18%. Therefore, we can conclude that the peak of tourist traffic during this long weekend occurred on Thursday,” he said.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles travelling from Puncak towards Jakarta was 13,000, an increase compared to the previous Thursday.
“This is an increase of 26% compared to Thursday, meaning that people who have been on holiday since Thursday are now starting to return to Jakarta,” he added.
Regarding traffic management for tomorrow, it will be implemented situationally, depending on the volume of vehicles. However, the one-way system will remain in place.
“Tomorrow morning, we will implement traffic management situationally, depending on the volume of traffic. However, we will focus on vehicles that will be completing their long weekend, namely the return traffic. It is likely to be implemented at 12:00 WIB,” he said.
