A one-way traffic management system on the first phase has been officially implemented on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road section from Tuesday evening (17 March). This measure has been taken to anticipate a significant surge in vehicle volumes heading eastbound.

Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications at Astra Tol Cipali, explained that the one-way policy applies from KM 72 to KM 188 on the Cipali toll road.

β€œThe one-way system was officially implemented at 15:21 WIB,” said Ardam in a statement from Subang, West Java.

The implementation on the Cipali toll road forms part of a larger phase I one-way scheme extending from KM 70 (Jakarta-Cikampek toll road) to KM 263 (Pejagan-Pemalang toll road).

Before the system was activated, officers had conducted sterilisation of the Jakarta-bound lane and rest areas along the entire route from 13:00 WIB onwards. The entire traffic management implementation was carried out fully in accordance with the discretion and direction of police officials in the field.

Data from Astra Tol Cipali shows a sharp increase in traffic flow. On Tuesday, from 00:00 to 15:00 WIB, approximately 41,000 vehicles had passed through the Cikopo toll gate heading towards Cirebon.

This figure represents a 27% increase compared to traffic volumes during the same hours the previous day. Overall, total traffic volume across the entire Cipali toll road section was recorded at an 18% increase.

Astra Tol Cipali urged travellers to maintain safe distances, prioritise safety, and comply with instructions from field officers during the implementation of this traffic management system.
