REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARANGANYAR – Korlantas Polri has officially lifted the full one-way national return flow traffic engineering from KM 414 at the Kalikangkung toll gate to KM 70 of the Cikampek toll on Wednesday (25/3/2026) afternoon WIB. The decision was made after evaluation results showed that vehicle flow on the Trans Java route had eased and traffic conditions were deemed under control.

Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho stated that normalisation of the flow was carried out gradually since the morning. The first stage began from the KM 414 to KM 263 section, then continued to KM 70 after the socialisation and on-site sterilisation processes were completed.

“So at 15:30 just now, we have opened the normal lane from Trans Java, particularly from Kalikangkung Semarang to KM 70,” said Agus in Karanganyar, Central Java, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

He explained that the lifting of the national one-way scheme was the result of traffic analysis and evaluation at several main toll gates, particularly Banyumanik and Kalikangkung. From the monitoring results, the volume of vehicles passing was deemed sufficiently normal, so the national one-way engineering was no longer needed.

Previously, the police had conducted an additional evaluation on Tuesday night (24/3/2026) following the emergence of return flows from Surabaya, Solo Raya, and Yogyakarta. That condition, Agus clarified, prompted the implementation of local one-way measures in Central Java to maintain the smoothness of the return flow to Jakarta.

“The one-way has been running well; last night there was an additional evaluation because the smoothness parameters must be managed through traffic engineering management,” said the two-star general.

According to Agus, congestion was observed on Tuesday around 20:00 WIB. That situation was then managed through local traffic engineering from KM 560 to Banyumanik up to KM 414, to keep vehicle distribution maintained and avoid disruptions on the main return flow route.

After the flow stabilised again on Wednesday morning, Korlantas immediately implemented the stages of lifting the national one-way. At 10:00 WIB, the first stage of normalisation was carried out from KM 414 to KM 263, before finally being extended to KM 70 in the afternoon.

“And this morning, we conducted analysis and evaluation of traffic counts passing through the Banyumanik and Kalikangkung gates, which were sufficiently flat and normal,” said Agus.
