One-Way Cipali Toll Officially Ends, Return Flow to Jakarta Returns to Normal
Holidaymakers are urged to take advantage of the work-from-home policy.
Astra Tol Cipali, in collaboration with the police, has officially halted the one-way traffic arrangement towards Jakarta on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road on Wednesday afternoon (25/3). The termination of this police discretion marks the return of traffic flow to normal two-way conditions.
Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated that the one-way scheme, previously implemented from KM 263 (Pejagan-Pemalang Toll) to KM 70 (Jakarta-Cikampek Toll), was officially closed at 17:50 WIB.
The decision to normalise the route is based on traffic data showing a decrease in vehicle volume. From 00:00 WIB to 17:00 WIB, 67,000 vehicles passed through the Cipali Toll towards Jakarta.
This figure is monitored to be about 10 percent lower compared to the same period the previous day. Traffic conditions along the entire Cipali route are reported as busy but smooth.
Before reopening the route for two directions, officers conducted a sterilisation process on the Cirebon direction lane and all rest areas along the Cipali route since 15:30 WIB to ensure the safety of road users heading to Jakarta.
Astra Tol Cipali urges all road users to always prioritise safety, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and comply with instructions from on-site officers during the traffic normalisation period.
In addition to focusing on traffic flow, Astra Tol Cipali is intensifying environmental education for holidaymakers. Through the “Pilah-Pilih Sampah” campaign at several rest areas, the operator aims to reduce waste during the 2026 Eid period.
Ardam emphasised the importance of active public participation in maintaining cleanliness along the return routes. This programme aligns with the government’s vision to realise “Mudik Minim Sampah” across all national transportation routes.
“We invite holidaymakers to help keep the return routes clean in a simple way, by disposing of waste according to its category,” Ardam concluded.
