One-Way and Contraflow Traffic Schemes Also Applied on Arterial Roads, Including Gadog
Jakarta, Kompas.com – Lieutenant General Agus Suryonugroho, Chief of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), has stated that traffic engineering measures during Operation Ketupat 2026 will be implemented not only on toll roads but also on arterial routes and several tourist destinations.
He exemplified that one-way schemes will be enforced in the Gadog area of Bogor and at Cibadak on the Bogor-Sukabumi (Bocimi) route during the Eid exodus period.
“One-way and contraflow systems are not just on toll roads; they are also implemented outside toll roads. For example, Gadog. On Saturdays and Sundays during Operation Ketupat, we implement one-way traffic heading upwards from the morning,” said Agus when met in the Monas area, Jakarta, on Thursday (12/3/2026).
“In the afternoon, we will evaluate, and based on traffic counting data showing the highest volume, we will then implement one-way traffic,” he added.
Agus explained that this scheme will be applied situationally based on evaluations of traffic congestion.
Additionally, traffic engineering measures have also been prepared in the Cibadak area on the Bogor-Sukabumi route to anticipate the surge in vehicles during the exodus period.
Agus stated that Operation Ketupat 2026 officially commenced following a personnel briefing led by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo on Thursday.
“Following the briefing, operations began immediately. By this evening, deployment is already underway. Security posts, service posts, including integrated command posts are all operational,” he said.
According to Agus, Operation Ketupat is not only focused on securing the Eid exodus and return traffic flows but also on ensuring that all community activities throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr proceed safely.
Additionally, security measures also encompass the celebration of Nyepi Day in Bali, which falls close to Eid al-Fitr this year.
In Operation Ketupat 2026, the National Police has mapped five main clusters as the focus of security operations.
These five clusters include toll roads, arterial roads, transportation hubs such as ferry ports, terminals, airports, and stations, places of worship, and tourist destinations.
