One shot dead for attacking officer

FAKFAK, Irian Jaya: A resident of Kaimana, Fakfak regency, was shot dead by police on Tuesday morning after he reportedly attacked an officer.

Yanto Revideso, who allegedly slashed an officer with a sharp weapon, was shot while hiding in a nearby forest, police said. (eba/jun)
