One Person Killed in Semarang House Fire

A house fire in Boromiri Hamlet, RT 26 RW 5, Kedungringin, Suruh, Semarang Regency, has resulted in one fatality. Suruh Police Chief AKP Sutarto stated that the incident was first noticed on Friday (14/8/2026) at 7pm local time when a witness saw flames coming from the roof of the victim’s house. Two witnesses, aware that the victim was inside, attempted to rescue him but their efforts failed as the fire had already grown too large. “The house was made of wood, which caused the fire to spread quickly and completely destroy the building,” Sutarto said. He identified the victim as Rohmad Abdul Salam, 45, who lived alone and was a person with a mental health condition. “The victim lived alone in the house.
