JAKARTA (JP): Police have arrested another student suspected of stabbing to death a student from a rival high school last Friday.

Two students, identified as Edi Suprapto and Wahyudi, were arrested on Monday, while another student, identified as Engkos, is still at large.

The four study at a privately-run technical high school in Kota. The victim was a student at a privately-run high school in West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Andi Chaerudin said yesterday that the third suspect, identified as 19-year-old Muharto, was arrested at his relative's house in the Jelambar district of West Jakarta on Wednesday night.

The four students beat and murdered Sularto on Jl. Latumeten, in Grogol, West Jakarta, Andi said.

During police interrogation, Edi admitted to stabbing Sularto with a knife, adding that his three friends only beat the victim.

Feeling guilty, Edi told his father on the following day that he had murdered someone.

The 20-year-old student was turned in by his parents to the Tambora police subprecinct on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira said yesterday that the police have identified three students wanted for the murder of a student at another private technical high school.

"We have identified the murderers of Bachtiar Effendi," Abubakar told The Jakarta Post. They are all students at a privately-run high school in Central Jakarta.

Bachtiar was stabbed to death last Tuesday on Jl. Kramat Raya in Central Jakarta. A riot was prompted the following day when hundreds of his angry friends began throwing stones at passers-by in the street in front of the Central Jakarta Police Precinct.

Three students were reportedly killed in brawls in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta and North Jakarta, including Sularto and Bachtiar last week.

Jamot, another student from a privately-run technical high school was killed last Friday in a brawl on Jl. Jembatan Tiga, North Jakarta. The alleged killers are still at large.
