One more councillor detained in Kendari
KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Kendari prosecutors detained another councillor on Monday after apprehending 22 councillors on graft charges on Saturday.
Yayan Hartawan, chief of the Kendari Prosecutor's Office, said the councillor in question was Adj. Sr. Comr. RR from the military/police fraction, who was taken into custody by the prosecutor's office after being questioned by fellow police officers in connection with a Rp 1.2 billion (US$106,300) graft case.
Two other councillors from the military/police faction are currently being questioned by military prosecutors concerning the same case and are likely to face a military tribunal.
There are 25 councillors in the Kendari legislative council. -- Antara
