Temanggung (ANTARA) - Kepolisian Resor (Polres) Temanggung held a dishonourable discharge ceremony (PTDH) in absentia against one personnel member named Brigadier First Class Damu for violating the code of ethics in a ceremony directly led by Temanggung Police Chief Senior Commissioner Zamrul Aini.

Temanggung Police Chief Senior Commissioner Zamrul Aini in Temanggung on Friday stressed that the dishonourable discharge ceremony is not an achievement, but rather the final step of law enforcement for members who commit serious violations of regulations.

“As members of the Indonesian National Police, we are all bound by a very strict code of ethics and discipline. Dishonourable discharge is not a decision taken lightly. This process is conducted with careful consideration through transparent and accountable evaluation and examination,” he stated.

He conveyed that every violation, whether disciplinary or criminal in nature, has serious consequences for both the individual and the reputation of the Indonesian National Police in the eyes of the public.

The Police Chief said the dishonourable discharge served as a moment for evaluation and introspection for all his personnel.

He urged every member to continually maintain integrity, morality, and professionalism in carrying out their duties as servants, protectors, and guardians of society.

“This dishonourable discharge is a reminder that the Indonesian National Police will not tolerate actions that tarnish our reputation, damage public trust, and betray our oath of office. Let us improve our performance and service, and strengthen oversight at every level,” he said.
