'One Last Dance', Afifuddin Kalla Says Not Just Talking but Creating Real Impact
Jakarta – The race for candidates for General Chairman of BPP HIPMI for the 2026–2029 period is heating up. Afifuddin Kalla has officially returned his registration form as a demonstration of his seriousness in contesting the leadership of the young entrepreneurs’ organisation.
This step serves as an affirmation of Afifuddin’s long journey in HIPMI, which began in 2008. He admits that this moment is a crucial point in his dedication, after progressing through various levels of leadership, from member to General Chairman of BPC, General Chairman of BPD, and to BPP HIPMI executive.
“This is not about me. It’s about how HIPMI can truly be present and make an impact. We don’t just talk; we make it real,” Afifuddin stated, quoted on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
Afifuddin describes his candidacy as a “one last dance” in his organisational journey, as well as a form of commitment to making HIPMI play a greater role in addressing national economic challenges.
In the work programme document prepared, he highlights Indonesia’s economy, which is currently in a consolidation phase. Although growth is considered stable, young entrepreneurs still face numerous challenges, from access to capital, the digital divide, to regulatory complexities.
According to him, HIPMI must be more active as a bridge between young entrepreneurs, the government, and the business ecosystem so that the solutions presented are truly concrete.
Afifuddin brings a vision to make HIPMI the driving force of the national economy through competitive, innovative, and nationalistic young entrepreneurs.
This vision also emphasises the importance of synergy between the central leadership and regions, so that HIPMI’s strength is not only concentrated at the national level but is evenly distributed throughout all areas.
Additionally, he asserts that his leadership direction will align with the government’s policies under President Prabowo Subianto, particularly in promoting economic sovereignty, industrial downstreaming, and job creation.
Afifuddin hopes that HIPMI can become a strategic partner to the government in ensuring that young entrepreneurs are a key part of Indonesia’s economic growth.
The return of the registration form is Afifuddin Kalla’s initial step in the battle for the General Chairman position of BPP HIPMI, carrying the ambition to make the organisation more tangibly impactful for its members and the national economy.
