One killed, two injured in brawl

BOGOR: One man was killed and two others injured after allegedly being attacked by dozens of people from another village following an argument about a road accident.

The incident began on Wednesday afternoon when Wira bin Asep, who was riding a motorcycle, and Faisal, another motorist, were involved in a traffic accident. The two argued furiously before leaving the scene.

But at about 7:30 p.m., approximately 50 people from Faisal's village in Central Cibitung descended on the Cikalancing hamlet in Cinangneng village, where Wira lived. Unable to find Wira, they allegedly assaulted Muhamad Nur and Ahmad Rosali, who were sitting by the roadside.

Wira arrived at the site a moment later and was allegedly attacked and killed by the mob.

Dozens of Cikalancing residents who gathered on Thursday morning planning to take revenge were dispersed by the police.

The police said they were still looking for four people who had allegedly provoked the bloody incident. --JP
