One killed in robbery attempt

JAKARTA (JP): Two unidentified men killed a Pulo Gebang, East
Jakarta, resident in a burglary attempt over the weekend.

The suspected robbers wounded another resident with a sickle
before escaping.

Munajih, 45, died at Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital of a stab
wound to the stomach. Sumardi is being treated for a stab wound
to his right arm at the same hospital.

Police said Munajih's killers were suspected of having tried
to break into two houses in the neighborhood, before breaking
into a small shop at 2:30 Friday morning.

Munajib and Sumardi, both private-sector company employees,
discovered the men, who attacked them with sickles.

Police have not yet identified the burglary suspects. (10)
