One Karangasem Paskibra Member Resigns
A member of the Flag-Raising Troop (Paskibra) of Karangasem, I Gede Vila Astrawan Putra from SMAN 1 Kubu, has resigned. The head of the Karangasem National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol), I Ketut Indra Sutawan, said the reasons for the withdrawal were personal.
“We have received his resignation letter, but regarding the reasons we cannot disclose them. Because it is a subjective matter, we do not wish to interfere, as it concerns an internal issue,” Sutawan said on Friday (17/7/2026).
Kesbangpol promptly replaced Vila Astrawan with another participant, who has already joined the training. The replacement is a participant who ranked lower in the previous selection.
According to Sutawan, the resigning Paskibra member had never attended any activities at all since being declared successful in the selection. From the preparations to the uniform and shoe measurements and other matters, he never appeared. Eventually, he stated that he wished to resign.
“But we did not want just a verbal statement; there had to be a letter that he signed. That resignation letter then served as the basis for us to replace him, and now the process is complete and his replacement has started joining the training,” Sutawan said.
According to Sutawan, all the training materials are handled directly by the Kodim 1623/Karangasem. It is understood that there are 50 Paskibra members, consisting of 25 males and 25 females.
Meanwhile, the head of SMAN 1 Kubu, I Ketut Suba, said the student who withdrew from the Karangasem Paskibra admitted that his reason was a family matter. However, Suba also does not know the problem in more detail, as he has not yet met the student in person.
“Before the centralised training began, we invited him for an orientation session together with the other students who also passed. But the person concerned did not attend,” Suba said.
The school has also been unable to meet him, as he did not answer when contacted several times. Moreover, the school is currently busy running the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for new students.
“We also plan to contact the student’s parents to find out what actually happened that led him to resign from the Paskibra,” Suba said.
