One Indonesian Syndicate Member in Hayam Wuruk Gambling Operation Previously Worked in Cambodia
We have conducted an examination, and one person turned out to be an Indonesian citizen. He is a resident of Jakarta here,” said the Director of General Criminal Acts (Dirtipidum) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, on Hayam Wuruk Street, West Jakarta, on Sunday (10/5/2026).
He explained that this Indonesian citizen had previously worked in Cambodia. The perpetrator returned to Indonesia to work again for the online gambling syndicate.
“But the individual is a former or had worked in Cambodia,” he revealed.
“So he came here too, working here again,” he continued.
Meanwhile, the 320 foreign national perpetrators are being handed over to the Directorate General of Immigration. They will be detained in two locations.
“The plan for today is that we will hand over the perpetrators to the Immigration Detention House, which will then be divided into two places. The first one in Kuningan and the other in West Jakarta,” he said.
The reason for detaining the 320 perpetrators is because they are foreign nationals, so the handling is coordinated with the Directorate General of Immigration. Meanwhile, the one perpetrator will still be taken to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency office.
“We need to convey that for the 321 perpetrators, those we will hand over are 320. Because they are foreign nationals. Whereas the one person will still be brought by us to the Criminal Investigation Agency,” he added.
