JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Bareskrim Polri has revealed that one Indonesian citizen (WNI) is suspected of being involved in the operations of an international online gambling syndicate in the office area of Hayam Wuruk, Taman Sari Subdistrict, West Jakarta.

Director of General Criminal Acts (Dirtipidum) of Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the Indonesian citizen was present with hundreds of foreign nationals (WNA) arrested during the raid on the office.

“After we conducted an examination, it turned out there was one Indonesian citizen, a resident of Jakarta. The individual had previously worked in Cambodia, then came here and worked again here,” Wira told reporters on Sunday (10/5/2026).

“The role of the Indonesian citizen will still be checked again, but for now, he is definitely a customer service representative,” Wira explained.

According to him, investigators are still conducting further in-depth investigations because the case development process is ongoing.

“We will delve deeper later, as we are still focused. And the number secured is also large, there are 321 people,” he said.

Wira explained that the perpetrators had various roles in running the operations of the online gambling site.

“There are various kinds, some are telemarketers, customer service, and also admins,” he said.

The police are also still tracing the parties suspected of being the owners or main controllers of the online gambling network.

“This is still under investigation. Please give us time, as we are also still coordinating with PPATK and other related stakeholders,” Wira said.

In addition, Bareskrim along with the Directorate General of Immigration is currently delving into the sponsors, building lessees, and parties providing facilities and infrastructure for the perpetrators.

Wira stated that the uncovering of this case is part of Polri’s commitment to eradicating gambling practices, both conventional and online.
