One-Hour Queue for Transjakarta Bus, Now Candy Can't Go Home Due to Flooded House
Jakarta - A Transjakarta bus passenger named Candy claimed she queued for one hour at the CSW shelter on Monday (4/5/2026) evening. According to Candy, the queue even snaked to the front of the tap-out machine at the integrated MRT ASEAN station. “Earlier, around 7:00 PM WIB until 8:00 PM WIB, I was still stuck there,” said Candy when met at the Swadarma shelter in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. However, Candy could not go straight home and rest. Ciledug Raya road under that skyway shelter was inundated with floods. Candy then sat on the pedestrian overpass bridge (JPO) at Halte Swadarma. She received information from her mother that their house was also flooded. Initially, Candy thought the flood would recede as she queued until she finally reached the destination shelter at 9:00 PM WIB. However, according to her mother, the flood had risen even higher. “I was informed by my parents this afternoon, but informed again that it had risen to waist level. Now at my house, it’s up to chest level,” said Candy. According to Candy, that main road often gets waterlogged because its surface is uneven and tends to be lower like a basin. She admitted to being fed up because the flooding problem there has not been resolved. Water from the tributary canal continues to overflow. “Because its position is low, and there’s a canal flow here too. But it’s getting worse towards this area, and the handling seems not serious,” she said. Eventually, Candy received a phone call from her family. She was asked to evacuate to a relative’s house that was not affected by the flood. Candy then climbed the stairs again to Halte Swadarma to take the next bus.
