One-Hour Power Outage in Jakarta Tonight: Check the Locations

The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) will conduct a one-hour power outage at several points tonight, Saturday 25 April 2026. This activity is part of the annual Earth Day commemoration.

The power outage is scheduled to take place simultaneously from 20:30 to 21:30 WIB. Pemprov DKI also invites the public to participate by turning off lights in their respective homes during that period as a form of environmental concern.

This activity is not merely symbolic but also serves as an effort to build public awareness of the importance of energy saving and carbon emission reduction in urban areas.

“Sobat Jakarta, let’s take part in the energy-saving action to celebrate Earth Day! Together with Pemprov DKI Jakarta, we will reduce carbon emissions in Jakarta by turning off lights for one hour,” stated the official release from Pemprov DKI Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

Locations of the Power Outage in Jakarta

The power outage will be carried out at various strategic locations covering city icons, government buildings, and protocol roads. Here is the list of locations:

• All buildings/offices of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, except hospitals (RS), community health centres (Puskesmas), clinics, etc.

• Several privately owned buildings, commercial buildings, shopping centres, restaurants, hotels, and apartments.

• National Monument (Monas)

• Arjuna Wiwaha Statue

• Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout

• Youth Statue

• Heroes Statue and General Sudirman Statue

Jakarta Power Outage Activity

For information, this power outage programme is not conducted only once. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has scheduled similar activities three times throughout 2026. The series of activities includes:

• 25 April 2026 for Earth Day

• 13 June 2026 for Environment Day

• 26 September 2026 for World Ozone Day

The Head of the Environmental Agency (DLH) of DKI Jakarta, Dudi Gardesi Sadikin, explained that the implementation mechanism of the power outage activity is carried out participatively by the managers and/or responsible parties of buildings, facilities, and lighting according to their respective authorities.

“The power outage activity aims to encourage energy saving, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase public awareness and participation in efforts to prevent and control environmental pollution,” said Dudi in a statement on Friday (24/4/2026).
