Just one day after its opening by Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, the Central Java Investment Forum (CJIBF) 2026 has recorded a jumbo potential investment. A total of 40 letters of intent (LOI), or investment interest notes, have been obtained from domestic and foreign prospective investors, with an estimated value reaching Rp 16 trillion. This achievement was obtained from a series of one-on-one meetings between prospective investors and local governments, industrial zone managers, and business actors during the opening of CJIBF 2026 in Semarang City on Monday (11/5/2026) morning. ‘The CJIBF that we are carrying out today has produced interests (LOI) and Rp 16 trillion in potential investment has been agreed upon,’ said Ahmad Luthfi while attending the Gala Dinner of the Working Meeting of the Primary Partner Regions Cooperation Forum at Tentrem Hotel in Semarang on Monday (11/5/2026) evening. The investment forum was opened directly by Ahmad Luthfi along with Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Todotua Pasaribu and Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Aida S Budiman. The event was also attended by representatives from 12 provincial governments that are members of the Primary Partner Regions Cooperation Forum (FKD MPU) and a number of prospective investors from various countries. Ahmad Luthfi stated that CJIBF is one of the strategic instruments to accelerate investment inflows into Central Java through collaboration between the Central Java Provincial Government and the Central Java Representative of Bank Indonesia. According to him, the forum is designed to bring together investors with local governments, business partners, and industrial zone managers who have projects ready to be offered. Head of the Central Java Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Sakina Rosellasari, explained that the 40 LOIs recorded come from investors’ interest in 21 ready-to-offer investment projects presented at the forum. The projects consist of 17 strategic sectors, ranging from renewable energy, agriculture and food downstreaming, tourism, to mining. In addition, there are four flagship industrial zones promoted, namely Kendal Special Economic Zone, Industropolis Batang Special Economic Zone, Wijayakusuma Industrial Park, and Jatengland Industrial Park Sayung. ‘It is the task of DPMPTSP to guide the interests that have signed the LOI so that they are truly realised as investments,’ said Sakina. She mentioned that investor interest is high in almost all sectors offered. The investors present come from both domestic and foreign sources and show initial commitment to establishing business cooperation in Central Java. For domestic investment (PMDN), the most sought-after sectors include manufacturing industry, biomass, geothermal, salt industry, as well as mocaf and agricultural product downstreaming. Meanwhile, for foreign investment (PMA), a number of investors come from Thailand, China, and India. ‘There is PMA and PMDN. The PMA that I know come from Thailand, China, and India. We will continue to guide those interests. Usually, realisation takes one to two years because each investor is still conducting studies,’ she explained. Sakina added that CJIBF is part of the Central Java Provincial Government’s strategy to maintain the investment growth trend in the region. In 2025, Central Java’s investment realisation was recorded at Rp 88.5 trillion, plus micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMK) investments of Rp 21.52 trillion. As for the first quarter of 2026, investment realisation in Central Java has reached Rp 23.02 trillion. The provincial government targets this year’s investment achievement to increase by at least 10 percent compared to the previous year. ‘This year’s investment target is at least up 10 percent from the previous realisation,’ said Sakina.
