One Aceh Pilgrim Still Hospitalised in Saudi Arabia, Total Deaths Reach 20

One hajj pilgrim from Aceh is still receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia, while the death toll among Acehnese pilgrims in the Holy Land has increased to 20. The Head of the Aceh Embarkation Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH), Arijal, stated in Banda Aceh on Thursday that the remaining patient is Abdul Rahman (94) from Group 13, originally from Pidie Jaya Regency. He has been hospitalised at King Fahad Hospital in Madinah since Wednesday (27/5/2026) due to low blood sugar levels. Arijal confirmed that all Aceh officials have returned home, and the patient is now being accompanied by a team from the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Saudi Arabia until he recovers and can be repatriated. He also expressed condolences for the passing of Rapasah Puteh, the 20th Acehnese pilgrim to die in the Holy Land, and prayed for strength and acceptance for the bereaved families. A total of 5,463 Aceh pilgrims from 14 flight groups have returned home, leaving only the one hospitalised individual still in Saudi Arabia.
