On the shortage of gas
On the shortage of gas
From Suara Karya
There are very seldom leaders who, when faced with problems, immediately take the necessary actions and look for a way out. In general, what they do mostly is look for reasons, justifications and finally a scapegoat. This is the reality in this country.
I appreciate the Minister of Mining and Energy's quick measures to control the shortage of fuel oil (BBM), i.e, looking for a breakthrough abroad, making on-the-spot inspections and witnessing for himself the queues for gasoline at the fuel stations. All of this should, no doubt, have been done by Pertamina officials.
Such quick measures ought to be taken by other cabinet ministers as well. The people have been waiting for real action, not merely promises and rhetoric.
If the elite do not stop quarreling, the people will continue to be in trouble. In addition, I'd like to appeal to all -- instead of blaming others so readily, or making political intrigue, or being always deceitful with the people, do your utmost for the interests of the people.
How naive are this country's elite for continually fighting for power while doing almost nothing for the poor, hungry and suffering people. The BBM issue isn't over, and now people are beginning to worry about the shortage of the nine staple foods. Stop blaming others, man, and start to be responsible for all those things that have caused the people to suffer. Do not wash your hands of them!
