JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto conducted a working visit to Miangas, the outermost island in northern Indonesia, located in Talaud, North Sulawesi, on Saturday (9/5/2026). The visit took place after Prabowo attended the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines. The position of this island is closer to the Philippines. The distance to Davao is only 48 miles, or about half an hour’s journey by speedboat. He even sang and played music with the local residents and made several promises. This former Kopassus General Commander is the second president to visit Miangas after Jokowi. This fact was also revealed by Prabowo when meeting with Miangas residents at SMK 2 Talaud. “We are grateful, I am the second president to have visited Miangas, Mr Jokowi has been here before,” said Prabowo. At the same location, Prabowo invited the Miangas residents to sing and dance together. At least six songs were sung by Prabowo and his entourage. The six songs were Nyiur Melambai, Sio Mama, Indonesia Pusaka, Si Patokaan, O Ina Ni Keke, and Tabola Bale. He was captured on camera joining in and dancing with the residents when the song Tabola Bale by Silet Open Up was played.
