On PAN's 28th Anniversary, President Prabowo Delivers Two Rhymes

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto delivered two traditional rhymes (pantun) at the conclusion of his speech during the peak celebration of the 28th anniversary of the National Mandate Party (PAN) at JICC, Jakarta, on Friday (18/9) evening.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I do not want to be outdone. You have rhymes, and I have rhymes too,” Prabowo said to PAN cadres and officials.

Prabao then read his first rhyme: “The sun rises with bright light, birds sing upon the branch, together with Zulhas, PAN continues to struggle, 28 years guarding trust and hope.”

He continued with a second rhyme: “Going to Lampung to buy mangoes, stopping briefly to meet a friend, the PAN party is great with Zulhas as its chairman, moving swiftly to help the people for progress.”

These two rhymes served as the conclusion to President Prabowo’s speech. In his address, the President discussed his closeness to PAN, even referring to the National Mandate Party as a friend.

On stage, the President also joked, noting that while PAN had successfully organised a grand anniversary event, they must have incurred debts. In response, Prabowo offered the message “Margo Ono,” a Javanese phrase meaning “there is a way.” The phrase “Margo Ono” was also the name of Prabowo’s grandfather, Raden Mas Margono Djojohadikusumo.

President Prabowo attended the peak celebration of PAN’s 28th anniversary in Jakarta on Friday night, accompanied by the Deputy General Chair of PAN DPP, Prasetyo Hadi, and the General Secretary of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sugiono.

Several political party leaders and state officials also attended the event, including Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the Speaker of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani, and the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment as well as the General Chair of PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar.

Also present were the Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources as well as the General Chair of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia, and the Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
