Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named eight suspects in a case of alleged bribery and other gratuities within the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). Four of the eight suspects are believed to be confidants of the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN, Nusron Wahid (NW). So will Nusron himself be named a suspect in this case?

“Firstly, it is true that there are four people who are suspected to be the minister’s confidants, with the initials N.W. This is based on testimonies gathered by the team, as well as some of the electronic evidence secured by investigators,” said Acting Director of KPK Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein, at a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (15/9/2026).

When asked why the KPK has not yet named Nusron a suspect, Taufik said the investigation is still ongoing. The case began with a hand-catch operation on Monday (14/9/2026), so the KPK has not yet had sufficient time to examine all parties involved.

“Please understand, as we have said repeatedly, this was a hand-catch operation and we only had 1x24 hours to examine all the people we secured. There were 19 people,” he said.

“One session is sometimes not enough for a person to convey all the facts. It requires several stages and some time,” he added.

Taufik explained that the investigation has only just begun, so it cannot yet be determined how far the list of suspects may develop. He also could not confirm whether the KPK will summon Nusron for questioning.

“We’ll just have to wait for developments,” he said. “Whether NW will be summoned depends on the needs of the investigation going forward. Whether he is needed or not, we’ll see as the investigation process continues,” he said.

In the reading of the case construction, the KPK did not directly mention Nusron’s involvement. However, individuals such as ERW, LEV, MF and FEZ were described as private parties believed to be confidants of the ATR/BPN Minister.

In this case, the KPK has named eight suspects, namely:

  1. Head of the Bogor Regency Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurung (SON)

  2. Golkar politician and confidant of the ATR/BPN Minister, Fadh El Fouz (FEZ)

  3. President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk. (SMRA), Adrianto Pitoyo Adhi (ADR)

  4. Private party and confidant of the ATR/BPN Minister, Arif Sugianto (ARF)

  5. Private party and confidant of the ATR/BPN Minister, Muhammad Fakhry (MF)

  6. Private party and confidant of the ATR/BPN Minister, Erwin (ERW)

  7. Private party, Rizal Pahlefi (LEV)

  8. Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Order at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/National Land Agency (BPN), Lampri (LMP).

The KPK also secured a number of pieces of evidence, including electronic evidence, and cash amounting to approximately Rp106.3 billion in Indonesian Rupiah, US Dollars, Singapore Dollars, Saudi Riyals and Malaysian Ringgit.

Earlier, through a series of hand-catch operations, the KPK secured 19 people across the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area on Monday (14/9/2026). They were taken to the KPK’s Red and White Building for further questioning, after which eight people were named suspects.
