On Labour Day, Cabinet Secretary Hopes Workers Will Be More Prosperous in the Future
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya conveyed his appreciation to Indonesian workers on the occasion of International Labour Day on 1 May 2026, hoping that their hard work today will bring a more prosperous life in the future. “May our hard work today bring a more prosperous life in the future,” said the Cabinet Secretary Teddy when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday. Teddy stated that Indonesian workers have made real contributions as key drivers of national development. He also extended congratulations on Labour Day to all workers in Indonesia. Previously, on Thursday night (30/4) around 9:00 PM WIB, upon returning from Bogor, Teddy also fulfilled an invitation from the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to meet and discuss with several representatives of labour federations who had arrived in Jakarta. The meeting took place at the integrated post in the Monas intersection area, Jakarta, in a warm atmosphere while discussing various aspirations from the workers, especially ahead of the Labour Day celebration on 1 May. The dialogue served as a space for exchanging views between the government and labour representatives regarding various issues of concern to workers ahead of this year’s Labour Day commemoration. President Prabowo Subianto is also scheduled to attend the peak of the 2026 National Labour Day commemoration at Monas. Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI Muhammad Qodari stated that the President’s presence is part of the government’s commitment to ensure that the voices of workers are not only heard but also responded to through real policies.
