On Independence Day, UI launches SATU UI to transform academic services
Universitas Indonesia (UI) has officially launched SATU UI (Universitas Indonesia Integrated Academic System) to coincide with the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence at the UI Rotunda, Depok campus, West Java, on Monday.
UI Rector Heri Hermansyah said after the Independence Day ceremony in Depok on Monday that this transformation is not merely a change of technology.
The development of academic needs and the increase in the scale of services have prompted UI to build a system that is more integrated, efficient, reliable, and capable of supporting the needs of students, lecturers, and educational staff.
“Thank you to SIAK-NG for being an important part of UI’s academic journey. Today, we continue that relay. The SATU UI transformation is not solely a system replacement, but an effort to continuously improve the quality of academic services for the entire academic community,” he said.
The performance of the new system has been tested since it was used for study plan (IRS) registration on 12 August 2026. Around 40,000 students were recorded accessing the system simultaneously to select classes, and the service ran smoothly.
The launch marks a new chapter in the digital transformation of UI’s academic services after more than two decades of SIAK-NG being part of the university’s academic services.
He explained that SATU UI is the official name of UI’s new core academic system developed from the Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM). The system is designed to unify academic processes, data, and services in a single digital ecosystem, from registration, study plan (IRS) submission, academic supervisor approval, grade and attendance monitoring, to transcript issuance.
In 2026, UI began migrating academic services from SIAK-NG to SLCM. SIAK-NG was officially closed on 6 August 2026, while academic services were subsequently transferred to the new platform.
Along with its implementation, UI established a new institutional identity, SATU UI, which reflects the spirit of unifying all academic processes and services.
SATU UI is designed to support students’ academic journey comprehensively, from admission and registration, lectures, and scholarships to graduation, commencement, certification, and alumni data.
This integration allows services previously scattered across multiple systems to be managed within a single ecosystem, while also supporting more centralised and consistent data management.
With the support of secure official integration and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), SATU UI can be developed and connected to various digital services of faculties and units as needed. The system is also designed with greater capacity and reliability to handle high access, especially during IRS registration and enrolment periods.
For students, SATU UI services can be accessed through the SLCM portal using their UI SSO account. During the transition period, students still need to check their academic data and follow the schedule and official information from their respective faculties or schools. Service issues can be reported through UI’s help channels.
The launch of SATU UI marks the beginning of a new phase in UI’s digital transformation. In line with the spirit of independence and unity, UI continues to build an increasingly connected academic ecosystem so that technology does not stop at infrastructure, but is present as a service that is simple, responsive, and provides a better experience for the entire academic community.
