On Independence Day, Ambassador Listyowati urges people to keep contributing to the nation
Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Listyowati has urged the Indonesian people to mark Independence Day by continuing to work and contribute to the development and progress of Indonesia.
“Let us continue to work and contribute to the development and progress of the Indonesian nation and state, in line with the theme of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, a Sovereign, Just and Prosperous Indonesia,” she said in a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka, received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka held a Red and White flag-raising ceremony in the embassy grounds on Monday, 17 August, attended by embassy staff, Indonesian citizens and the Indonesian diaspora in Bangladesh.
Around 400 Indonesian citizens and diaspora members from Dhaka and surrounding areas, including some from locations quite far from Dhaka, filled the embassy compound, according to the release.
On the occasion, the ambassador also presented the Satyalancana Karya Satya 30-year service award to Tomo Sudrajat, a civil servant serving as communications officer at the embassy.
The Independence Day programme at the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka began in early August, featuring flag-raising squad training, competitions and a leisurely walk event, “KBRI Walk”, at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park.
