On Global Conditions, Prabowo: We Will Emerge From This Crisis
Jakarta — President of the Republic Prabowo Subianto has expressed optimism that Indonesia is capable of navigating various global uncertainties and emerging from the crisis in a stronger condition. This statement was made amidst rising global energy supply uncertainty and surging oil prices resulting from the Middle East conflict.
Prabowo stated that he has studied various data and figures concerning Indonesia’s natural resource wealth. On that basis, he is confident that Indonesia has the capacity to continue strengthening its economy and national resilience.
According to him, Indonesia will emerge from the crisis situation in a stronger and more prosperous condition. Furthermore, Indonesia will increasingly be able to stand on its own feet.
“We will emerge from this crisis in a stronger and more prosperous state, more productive, more capable of standing on our own feet. We are very grateful for the blessings bestowed upon us by the Almighty,” Prabowo said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
On another note, Prabowo also touched on the efforts he has pursued regarding food self-sufficiency. Amidst conflicts occurring worldwide, Indonesia is moving towards food self-sufficiency, particularly for rice commodities.
“We will also soon achieve our capacity to meet our protein needs. Whatever happens where many other nations will face difficulties, at minimum we are secure on food matters,” Prabowo stated.
Beyond this, Prabowo also reaffirmed his commitment to realising energy self-sufficiency. Indonesia possesses significant potential to meet its fuel oil requirements from domestic sources through the development of biofuels.
“And we have a great blessing from the Almighty, that we will soon be able to fulfil our fuel oil needs, not from foreign imports, but from our own crops from palm oil, from cassava,” Prabowo said.
