On Gandhi Elementary School

On behalf of Gandhi Memorial School, we deeply regret to read an article (a letter) with the headline Gandhi Elementary School published in The Jakarta Post, dated Aug. 7, 1997 on page four. Name and address of the writer is not known but of course, we are entitled to get the said name and address, and The Jakarta Post must legally give it to us.

Through this article (letter), we remind the writer that your purchase of plots of land in Sunter Agung Podomoro has legally no connection at all with Gandhi Memorial School. Furthermore, you have no right at all to raise any questions which lead to the destruction of Gandhi Memorial School's reputation only because of your children's further education, which has never been discussed, consulted or been guaranteed by the Gandhi Memorial School or the Gandhi Memorial School Foundation. For the information of your newspaper, we deeply regret that you have not bothered to make even a simple check. As you would have found out that the Gandhi Memorial School Foundation or the Gandhi Memorial International School in Ancol, has nothing to do at all with any land located in Sunter.

If you, the writer, really need detailed information on Gandhi Memorial School, you can come and request such information at the office of Gandhi Memorial School.

We can neither accept nor tolerate with the manner you deal with this matter and therefore, we have decided to take legal actions against you, the writer.
