On 3 Million Homes, Hashim: Stop Empty Talk, No Action Talk Only
JAKARTA — Hashim Djojohadikusumo, head of the Housing Task Force, has emphasised that the 3 Million Homes programme must be realised concretely and not merely remain as discourse.
This was stated by Hashim during the launch of housing development in support of the 3 Million Homes programme in Manggarai, Jakarta, on Monday, 16 March 2026.
Hashim said the housing programme currently being implemented is expected to demonstrate the government’s commitment to realising social justice for the people.
“Now, with the programme we witness today, we realise today, we start today, we demonstrate the fifth principle so that our people truly experience tangible benefits from the presence of Pancasila as the state’s ideology,” said Hashim.
“Don’t just engage in empty talk. Empty talk, empty talk, NATO, no action talk only. We read the fifth principle three times, but we do not realise it,” Hashim stressed.
Hashim also revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had questioned the slow implementation of the 3 million homes construction programme.
According to Hashim, the President believed the programme appeared to be progressing slowly and needed to be accelerated.
“The President asked why the housing programme is moving rather slowly. I explained that of course there are bureaucratic challenges, the housing ministry is a new ministry, only one year old,” said Hashim.
The 3 Million Homes construction programme is one of the government’s efforts to expand public access to adequate housing and support the equitable distribution of prosperity.
