Omoway Omo-X versus Maka Cavalry: A Premium Electric Scooter Comparison
Jakarta - The Indonesian premium electric scooter market is increasingly competitive with various models offering modern technology and high performance. Two notable contenders are the Omoway Omo-X and Maka Cavalry, both positioned in the premium electric scooter segment.
The Omo-X features a futuristic design with a large frame measuring 2,022 mm in length, 858 mm in width, and 1,211 mm in height, with a 1,500 mm wheelbase. Despite its size, the 760 mm seat height remains rider-friendly, and the 145 mm ground clearance ensures urban usability.
Conversely, the Maka Cavalry sports a more aggressive, sporty aesthetic with a front headlamp design reminiscent of motorcycle sports models. Its overall look resembles standard maxi scooters such as the Yamaha Nmax and Honda PCX. For daily use in crowded urban environments, the Cavalry’s compact dimensions make it more maneuverable.
The Omo-X, meanwhile, exudes a premium feel with a more spacious riding position.
Performance-wise, the Omo-X is equipped with a 13 kW (17.6 horsepower) electric motor and a peak torque of 320 Newton metres. The Cavalry delivers 12 horsepower with 242-250 Newton metres of torque. It claims a 0-60 km/h acceleration time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 105 km/h.
While the Omo-X outperforms in power, torque, and acceleration figures, the Cavalry’s performance is adequate for urban commuting and moderate-distance travel.
The Omo-X uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries in two variants: the standard model with a 5.38 kWh capacity offering up to 160 km range on WM TC tests, while the Long Range version features a 7.68 kWh battery with a claimed 210 km range.
