JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Electric motorcycle manufacturer, Omoway, has confirmed that the Omo-X, which is set to launch in Indonesia, will be locally assembled.

The General Manager of Omoway Indonesian Market, Yulong Chen, stated that the process of preparing for local production is already underway, including training human resources at the factory.

“Employees at the factory have been training for over two months. They will continue training for another 1.5 months, for a total of 4 months,” said Chen.

According to him, Omoway is deliberately conducting a lengthy testing and preparation process to ensure product quality before it is delivered to consumers.

“Consumers who buy the Omo-X do not need to worry that it is a first-generation unit and may not be perfect. Because before it is sold, we have already produced hundreds of units for testing. The cost is also high, because we have to conduct tests and training first,” said Chen.

Chen is optimistic that the mass-produced version will have better quality than the current prototype unit.

“First, because the PT2 is already quite good to use. Second, we are quite confident that the second unit will be more luxurious and more perfect,” he said.
