Omoway Claims Omo-X Has Completed 700,000 Km of Road Testing
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Electric motorcycle manufacturer, Omoway, is preparing to launch the Omo-X in Indonesia.
Interestingly, before being officially marketed, the futuristic-style electric motorcycle underwent extreme testing, covering a distance of 700,000 kilometers.
General Manager of Omoway Indonesia, Yulong Chen, said the testing was carried out intensively in various road conditions.
Okatami, Head of Retail at Omoway Indonesia, said that this road testing is important to assess the design and durability of the motorcycle.
The test itself involved around 60 riders in rotation to ensure the motorcycle’s durability and to observe the performance of its components when used for an extended period.
Moreover, the Omo-X is projected to be an electric motorcycle that not only relies on smart technology but also offers robustness for daily use.
Although large, the seat height is only 760 mm, making it suitable for many rider postures.
The motorcycle’s ground clearance is recorded at 145 mm and is claimed to be able to handle water depths of up to 500 mm, in line with the road conditions in tropical countries like Indonesia.
In terms of performance, the Omo-X is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 13 kW or equivalent to 17.6 hp. Its peak torque even reaches 320 Nm, a relatively high figure for an electric motorcycle in its class.
For power, the OMO-X uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery available in two options.
Regarding charging, Omoway provides several options, starting from an 800W standard charger with a charging time of about six hours, to a 2,000W quick charger in 2.5 hours.
In addition, there is also a special Omoway charger that is claimed to be able to charge from 0-80 percent in just 1.5 hours.
