Omoda O4 Makes Global Debut in Indonesia, Features AI-Based Cockpit
Omoda & Jaecoo officially launched the Omoda O4 in Indonesia on Monday evening (27/7/2026). The electric vehicle is the first model equipped with the Super AI Cockpit and marks the brand identity change from Omoda to Omoda & Jaecoo Indonesia.
Indonesia was selected as the first country for the Omoda O4’s global launch. This step also serves as the debut of the artificial intelligence (AI)-based cockpit technology that will form the foundation for future Omoda & Jaecoo vehicle development.
CEO of Omoda & Jaecoo International, Shawn Xu, stated that Indonesia was chosen because it is considered one of the rapidly growing automotive markets with a high level of acceptance for new technology. “Indonesia is not only one of the fastest-growing automotive markets in the world, but it is also a very dynamic market open to innovation. Therefore, we proudly chose Indonesia as the first country in the world for the global launch of the Omoda O4 and the debut of our mass-produced Super AI Cockpit,” said Shawn Xu.
The Omoda O4 features a Cyber Mecha design that highlights a futuristic character through sharp body lines, Cyber Lightning main headlamps, and an aerodynamic silhouette typical of electric vehicles. Inside the cabin, the car presents a spacecraft cockpit ambience with a large touchscreen, a flip-start button, and an entertainment system that supports gaming using a wireless gamepad.
The main advantage of the Omoda O4 lies in the Super AI Cockpit, built using Agentic AI architecture and a large language model (LLM). Unlike conventional voice command systems, this technology is claimed to be capable of understanding user intent, learning driving habits, and providing more personalised responses.
The system is equipped with several AI Agents that support various functions, ranging from vehicle operation, navigation, and real-time vehicle condition monitoring, to personalisation such as music recommendations, news updates, sports information, and customised greetings to the user.
Omoda & Jaecoo also introduced the development of AI 2.0, which will bring new capabilities such as smarter trip planning, driver habit learning, an emotion-based companion through voice cloning technology, and AI-powered entertainment features.
As a pure electric vehicle, the Omoda O4 is equipped with a 65.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, claimed to cover a distance of up to 553 kilometres based on NEDC standards on a single charge. The car uses a 160 kW electric motor with a peak torque of 275 Nm, enabling acceleration from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 7.1 seconds. The Omoda O4 also supports DC fast charging up to 119 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes.
According to Shawn Xu, the launch of the Omoda O4 in Indonesia marks the beginning of the global expansion of the Super AI Cockpit technology. The technology will begin to be introduced to Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets in the fourth quarter of 2026, before being applied to more models starting in 2027.
“Today also marks a new chapter for us, where Omoda and Jaecoo officially present as Omoda & Jaecoo in Indonesia. With the strength of two brands and a shared vision, we are committed to delivering more comprehensive intelligent mobility innovations for Indonesian consumers and leading the future of intelligent mobility,” said Shawn.
At the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, Omoda & Jaecoo will also showcase the Omoda O4 to the Indonesian public in Hall 9D, ICE BSD City, alongside various demonstrations of artificial intelligence technology that form part of the company’s future mobility ecosystem.
